This was in my room at Willington Street, an apartment Sunlil managed. There was a huge mice problem and the rooms were so tiny and small. He's the worst realtor and landlord and should be sued for the properties he's renting out to students.
He is a Temple Alum that is only out for money from prospective students. Note that he makes very inappropriate comments to females behind their backs. He referred to our roommates as the "ugly" one and "pretty" one. Note that he is a face for many bad Landlords while he is just a Realtor your most likely getting a less than suitable place from him. For my case, the place he put me in was in fact illegal as many of the essential emergency exits are locked and 2 bedrooms did not have windows. Also repeatedly he took down my information wrong such as the wrong number and the wrong email(Even after I emailed him) and directed me and my roommate to send money to the wrong place.(Even wrote it wrong on the lease he even gave us). We almost got evicted due to this. At the end of the day I feel like I won't be getting my security deposit back just for being in a place this poor. TU Students and even natives to North Philadelphia beware, play it safe and avoid this guy altogether.
The apartments are in fair condition at most. The standard of living in the house is very very low but the price reflects it. If you dont want to pay too much you can find some good places here. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW YOUR ROOMMATES BEFORE MOVING IN!!!! Most of the posts of Craigs list are lies!!
Only really cares about making money. Only fixes stuff in the house if it is required by law so he can pass inspections (ie:mold) but you're on your own if you have problems with replacing lights (not the bulb, lights), mice problem, pretty much any problem he isn't required by law to fix. Takes for ever with maintenance and when he does call them they leave crap everywhere and leave the place worse than it was before calling them. Will hassle you about paying your rent on time but won't even lift his big toe when it comes to your needs. Totally takes advantage of college students and is very selfish. No sense of respect or privacy during the time that your lease is about to be up. Cheap rent, yes; but that's pretty much it. Not recommended.
This guy has nice places, but he has no respect for his tenants. He is a graduate of Temple, and around 24-25 yet he treats his tenants like children. He is very condescending, and rude as well. I thought my roommates and I were the only ones who hated him until we spoke to the tenants downstairs who will not rent from him again based on his attitude alone. He ask me to move out a month in advance so his "new ppl" could move in...and did not want to give back my lasts months rent if I did! He also shows up unannounced to show people the apartment, and will even come into your room while you sleep etc. Find a better landlord if you can!
