This was literally the worst place I have ever lived. I was there for over a year, and in that time we were never late on our rent. It was a small house in North Park that had been "renovated" to add more rooms, so my father and I played $950/ month for one room and shared the rest of the house with 4 other people. The place was infested with roaches and when it rained in the winter the house was over run with crane flies. Rebecca would appear randomly to "fix" things. One of the inexplicable repairs was when she removed our functional bathroom window and replaced it with a microwave plate screwed into the tile. It shattered randomly a few weeks later. Meanwhile, she ignored our broken toilet which leaked raw sewage on the floor for three months. Rebecca owns another property in lakeside in not much better condition, also stuffed to the ceiling with tenants. There are YouTube videos detailing the horrendous states her properties are in, and while I understand renting out an unfinished property at a discount, she charged us full price and tried to manipulate us into paying more. She moved two mentally handicapped people, a mother and her adult son, into the house and they absolutely wrecked the place. The adult son would relieve himself all over the house, and try to intimidate us into giving him money for drugs. All of this came to a head when she showed up randomly one day and began screaming at us about the "mess" and began throwing our belongings away. I told her in no uncertain terms would she be throwing my things away, and she picked up a knife and threw it at me. I tackled her and once I got her away from the other knives, she ran out and drove off in her truck. I called the cops, who stopped and arrested her and she was in jail for 2 months. I had a temporary restraining order against her and once I moved a few weeks later let it drop, so she attempted to have an order placed on me. When the judge denied that, she immediately went to small claims and filed against me. She falsified evidence and went so far as to forge my signature, and although the deposit was never returned to me I still owe her $350 for a cleaning service. The receipt of said service had no company name, and the signature wasn't a name at all but a squiggle. All in all, it was an expensive lesson to learn but this woman is truly unhinged. If you search her name on the court website you will see dozens of other cases either filed by her or against her. I just hope no one else falls in to her trap. STAY AWAY FROM REBECCA ZULAUF.
