Blaine (the owner) likes to try to skirt around the landlord/tenant laws and get away with things that are very illegal. He chose to end our rental agreement because their policy on grills changed and our grill was unused and brand new but we weren't allowed to keep it covered on the porch or in the apartment. Our apartment complex was INFESTED with roaches and their monthly "preventive" spraying did nothing to help it, I ended up getting boric acid powder to get rid of them inside my apartment. When we moved out, they tried to charge us twice for rent on a month we weren't even there. Trying to get ahold of Blaine was like trying to pull a grain of sand out of a glass pit. I will never recommend living under PBS, they take extreme advantage of people with disabilities and those who don't speak English.

This was the dirtiest grossest apt I ever lived in it stunk to bad it burned my eyes..but because I'm on ssi I was irrelevant....i was not a valid person because I'm disabled...PBS owns most rentals in Crete ...dint move here unless a slum Lord is what you like

asked about a 6 month lease and they said prices would not be changed. upon going to sign a lease, they changed what they had said. property was poorly maintained. had a lot of problems with bugs during the whole lease. they would charge for any maintenance issue that occurred. upon leaving, I left the place spotless yet only received only 25% of my deposit back. were never in the office during business hours and wouldn't return calls about any problems

It was nearly impossible to get in contact with the landlord/guy in charge of the business. When I'd call the office, I'd only be able to talk to one of their receptionists. The landlord would not tell the receptionists necessary information so it was impossible to get the answers that I needed. This occurred numerous times. I lost some of my security deposit due to our carpets not being "clean". PBS asked us to rent a carpet cleaner and clean the carpets when I moved out. I was charged for a professional carpet cleaning after moving out due to a toothpick and a minuscule piece of paper. I found it ridiculous that I was charged for something that could've been brought in on their shoes as they walked through the apartment. The furnace also broke while I was living there and PBS failed to give me a notice as to when the repair man was showing up. Overall, I would not rent from PBS again simply on the basis of difficulty in communicating with the landlord.
