Bad communicator- very slow to respond to maintenance requests and often brushed them off entirely. There was a literal hole in our kitchen ceiling which he refused to fix, saying it was "cosmetic!" Multiple female tenants said he never responded to their emails, but when I (a man) emailed him about the same issue, he responded. Our water bills were calculated by dividing the total building water bill evenly among tenants, rather than billing us by unit, which I'm pretty sure is illegal.
I live in a building owned by Oliver for two years. Whenever I brought something to his attention he responded promptly. When moving in the sink wasn't working and Oliver had his handyman immediately go and get a replacement. A few areas were a little dirty and he made sure to have them cleaned right away. One winter the heating was failing randomly. When I emailed Oliver he had the problem fixed in a matter of hours. One of the best feelings was waking up after a bad snowstorm to the sound of someone shoveling my patio and apartment entryway. He really loved the building and its units, and I think we got along well because I felt the same way. The rent was higher than average for the space, but for me it was entirely worth it.
