The biggest issue is that Newport has a monopoly on the area. They called me a liar because I mentioned that there were roach infestation problems. There were also stains and dirtiness in the hallways outside my room. They never cleaned it. The only real positive outside the location of the place was the doorman. He even helped jump start my car when the battery died once.
The super is very helpful in this building. There are also great views and the location is nice. The management kind of bothered me. They gave me two days to renew my lease and sounded pretty disrespectful on the phone when I called with questions. The elevators are also TERRIBLE. They're slow, so be mindful of that. Otherwise, I enjoyed my time. Still there now...

Mall, Best Buy, and Target across the street. They were pet friendly. They even hosted their own dog run. They also provided us a ton of space with respect to what we'd have to pay in Manhattan for the same style living. Parking is also super expensive at $220/month and you have to walk to it from the building. Lastly, the views of Manhattan are beautiful. I'd recommend.
