The place is good, close to the subway 4/5/6. The building is good with great doorman service but a bit old and not much amenities.
The landlord is awful, manipulative and controlling. She want to control who the tenants can or cannot welcome in the apartment and calls the cops if you don’t abide by her unreasonable rules. She want to enter the apartment unannounced and whenever she wants for an undetermined amount of time.

The location is great: close to Central Park and to the 4/5/6 and new Q subway lines.
The place itself is nice and fully furnished.
The issue is the landlord coming by herself, or letting her family come, with little to no notice about when they'd come, how many of them there will be, and how long they are planning to stay. She is not willing to discuss those topics in a rational or reasonable manner, which results in unpleasant and tough conversations.
While the place is nice, the landlord's shenanigans do not make it worth your while to stay there.

The apartement is big, nice location not far from Central Park, great doorman services. However, some work has to be done to keep the apartment warm during winter and the landlord don't want to invest. Moreover, there is a problem in the lease contract. It says that she and her family (anybody in their big family) can come over if needed and sleep in our living room. Of course before signing the contract Meira told us it would be exceptionnal and for few days. However it was at least 2 to 3 times a year for at least a month and worst, one day her daughter came with her baby and wanted to stay for the summer! This family has absolutely no respect for tenants. They don't understand that once you rent your apartment you can no longer live in it. Because of that I don't recommend this apartment for a long term contract, this kind of thing is really annoying on a daily basis.

This apartment is rented by room (which was fine by me as it makes it more affordable). But Meira Ophir was the worst landlord I ever had. She lets you believe that she & her family would use the living room “when in town” but once you start living there, you realize that her family shows up any time - day or night, with very little notice (if any) and occupy the living room for weeks or even more than a month, as per their wish. If you try to tell her it’s wrong, she responds aggressively and terminates your lease. Cheap in every way possible. If you want peace of mind, avoid her place. It’s nice but not worth the pain.
