Responsive but hostile, disrespectful, controlling, gouged our deposit

Luigi's style of communication is hostile. We felt anxious about interacting with him: * Some mornings on our way to work he'd accost us: "Come here! I show you something!" * He surprise-increased rent by $250 when we took on a month-long 3rd roommate. We'd discussed this plan when signing lease & he hadn't then described rent increase. * Luigi accused 3rd roommie of stealing bikes when he moved his fancy racing bike in, & threatened surprise inspections for contraband. * A few items were worn out when we moved in. Loathe to face Luigi’s hostility, we rationed out fix requests. We got rusted-out kitchen sink + detached toilet seat replaced. But refrigerator leaked all year. * He docked $200 from deposit to respackle two dents in hallway + for cleaning. We’d hired a pro to reclean surfaces that we’d cleaned. Luigi provided no specific info/pix about what required more cleaning. Previous landlords called us "ideal" tenants & had offered discounted rent to entice us to stay.
