Beware this property and property owner....
Beware this property and property owner. We lived in this home for two years. Upon moving in, within the week, we were targeted for crime. I lost count of how many times I had to call the sheriff for break-ins, prowlers, ect. She said they moved out because they didn’t want to be so close to the road. The house does sit right up against a moderately traveled road making it an easy mark for criminals to get in and out quickly. In addition, the owner keeps deposits any way she can. She says she is not a nit picky person when you are a potential renter, but indeed she is. When we moved in, the pool pump was leaking. I put it on the move-in checklist. Her pool servicer told her the pump needed to be replaced, and said he had been telling her for two years. I had another person look and give a second opinion at my own expense. They said the unit was so old it was illegal to work on. They also said the pool had not been backwashed in a very long time, because the backwash valve was dry rotted and stuck. When we were moving out, she said I neglected the pool causing algae to build in the sand filter and causing an “enormous leak” (that was what was leaking when I moved in) and the sand filter had to be replaced. She also told me the pump was brand new when I moved in. I told her no it was not because it was so old, it was illegal to work on. She then backpedaled when she was caught in the lie and said she would have to talk to her husband. She said the pool was green and had to be emptied and powerwashed, when in fact, I personally cleaned the pool and there was no algae and the water test was good & balanced. The hot tub only worked part of the time, it would heat up for a bit, then shut off; the pool servicer said it needed a motor. When I relayed this, the owner said she didn’t want to “sink any more money into that old thing”. Alll in all, she kept my almost $3200.00 deposit and got her pool guy (Presidio Pool) to do illegal repairs on the pool pump. She also deducted all the repairs on “that old” hot tub, saying it was ***** and full of rocks. That was also untrue because I emptied it, cleaned it and then covered it. She changed the locks before I was finished cleaning, then lied and said I abandoned the property so she could do the move out inspection without me present. This women has a history of keeping deposits, don’t trust her!
