Mom and pop landlord situation except in this instance Pop's been dead for 5 years and Mom had to take the reigns with horrendous consequences. Read other reviews. Great location, terrible landlady.

Polish landlady who has numerous buildings in the area. Not quick to respond to matters. We once did not have gas for 2 weeks as she was in Mexico in December so had to live somewhere else. Heaven forbid you ask her for anything involving basic repairs around the house or even a new paint job after 5 years (legally obliged for them to do so). She'll also deny that parts of your house were in that state even though you have Google drive images showing a time stamp from previous years. Horrible.

Well, I think the reason Ms. Malik chose me over another boy to rent the house to is because I am an foreigner, on legal working visa. First of all the apartment is no where in the shape of ready to be rented and the pipes are all backed up, couldn't shower properly for a month and had to go to friend's to shower, lived in an hotel for weeks. However I was constantly being yelled and insulted by Ms. Malik, by using her broken English accusing me not being clean and backed up the pipes. In the end the problem was so big that the whole building was leaking from broken pipes and clogged sewage, she then told me she was sorry because no one in years had told her there was in issue, while I had been telling her since the first day I moved in. I have been living in NY for five years and know what an apartment should have, like working appliances and the unit must have it's own meter, I was just asking for basic livingneeds like working electricity and working toilet and shower, but it sounds like I was asking alot. Ms. Malik owns several apartments in a great area in Brooklyn and was bragging to me she bought an apartment unit nearby by that cost several millions. She refused to give me her cell phone at first but I found it on internet anyways. She refused to maintain the apartment units to fit a basic human living will need and emotionally abuse you. If you can live with that, the rent of her apartments are pretty reasonable.
