I am writing to express my concerns regarding KMK Management, a property management company that has consistently shown disregard for the well-being of its tenants. As a long-term resident, I have encountered numerous issues that highlight their negligence: bike stolen in gated parking garage, parking gate issue causing me to be late for work multiple times, during pandemic KMK initiated seismic retrofit construction activities causing significant disruptions and noise, despite everyone being mandated to stay at home. Despite a neighboring apartment successfully requesting and receiving improved windows to reduce noise from adjacent construction, my similar request was denied. KMK Management has exhibited poor judgment in renting the apartment above mine to questionable tenants. Overall, these experiences lead me to believe that KMK Management is intentionally creating discomfort to me so I leave and they can upgrade my unit for higher rents.

Folks stay, stay, STAY away from this property management company! DO NOT rent from them! Do not trust any of their leasing agents, especially its president! Make sure you thoroughly inspect the unit, with witnesses, take photos/videos, check for mold, leaks, safety, asbestos/lead exposure...etc. and make sure it’s not a defective apartment/uninhabitable! Verify and read carefully their lease! Because once you signed their misleading/unwarranted leases, you’d be screwed — they contain numerous inequitable terms/waivers designed purposefully/intentionally to target/limit the rights of minorities, the disabled, and older people. Horrible and malicious management/owner that do/try every trick, including illegal ones, to collude, overcharge, defraud, discriminate, harass, and blatantly retaliate against you and your family. It seems that they prey on desperate and uninformed/inexperienced college students who do not know how to rent responsibly. Once you move in they wouldn’t fix things properly, they’d only repair the minimum required using cheap/unapproved materials to barely pass the housing Dept’s inspection! If you’ve lived in any of their units and have children/kids living with you make sure you test them for lead/asbestos poisoning and concurrently hire a competent counsel to seek damages.They’d never refund your security deposit until you take them to small claim court/hire an attorney.
