Worst landlord ever!! DO NOT RENT from this guy. He is a slum lord to the fullest extent. He showed us a home that we agreed upon renting, and then at the last minute said it wasn't ready. He put us in an old trap house house for $200 more a month than the place we looked at, made us sign a month to month lease for a place we never even rented, had a friend "fix" the furnace by illegally pulling the air intake off, failed to give me a CRP at tax time, and then threatened me when I told him we were moving out. The house was infested with mice, there were open electrical outlets, and the lights worked when they felt like it. I'm sure it was not legal for him to even rent that place to us. The city should condemn it ....

John was a terrible landlord. He never responded to any messages we ever sent him. We were without heat when it was still 30 degrees outside and he did not respond or fix it for two weeks. We had to contact his maintenance guy 5+ Times ourselves before he finally purchased a new furnace for us. He sold the house without telling us until it was done, gave us the impression we could stay, but did not tell us the new owner did not want to rent to us. We found out a month before our lease ended

He broke our lease agreement, threatened us to pay the full cost of the empty rooms that we were not responsible for filling, I still (after 2 years) do not have my copy of the lease, he is physically unavailable, he is irresponsible with money (bought the winona mall for $1 million then says to me that "the bank is on me"... well ya!). Most of my roommates have not even met him. He doesn't have any fees (or notices) if your rent is paid late, not communicative with which utilities he is paying. Mice are common in this house along with bats during the summer and a few bees here and there. In the summer, mosquitos tend to get in a lot. We have had a lot of problems with the house mostly because it is so old but one important thing with John is that his mouth doesn't mean anything. He said he would do a lot of things 2 years ago that he still hasn't done... like replace the windows, touch up the siding, fix one of our stoves/ovens, clean the basement, etc. Overall, nice person, just terrible landlord...
