Any time you file a maintenance request, the management company turns to making bold, false statements to scare you into not pressing your issue. The electricity to the common areas and the garages went out. My spare refrigerator is located in my garage, this issue occurred while we were on vacation causing everything to rot. Instead of fixing the electricity, the first thing they do is fire off an email telling me I am clearly violating my lease by having a fridge there and that I was also violating city code....both were complete lies. I pulled up my lease and found ZERO language about what I could use my garage for. Also, there is no city ordinance. I sent them a copy of the lease back calling them out on their lies and use of harassment techniques. Here we are, almost a week later and the problem still isn't fixed.
I had an overall great experience with JMC Management. Mary was always very responsive to any problems that I had (always responding within 24 hours or less). She was very respectful of my privacy, and was diligent about giving me advanced notice before coming to see the property or sending service people. She was also very understanding of my financial aid (ex. waiting for funds to clear in order to pay rent). Overall, I would say I had a very positive experience with JMC Management and would definitely re-sign for next year if it weren't for graduation.
She was a great landlord, always responsive to repair requests and took excellent care of the property. Wish all landlords could be as good.
