While living in the Gori property, my roommate and I only had a few problems. We had to get new keys for the front door because the ones Gori issued us were so flimsy they broke in the dead bolt. We also had to get new bathroom and pantry door handles because they were out of date and abused by prior tenants, and it took a while for Gori to send maintenance over for that simple fix. The apartment as a whole was dated, with old carpeting, appliances, and cabinetry - though those were all functional. The biggest issue we had was with our security deposit after moving out. We agreed to allow Gori to take out the requisite amount to perform a chemical carpet cleaning, and then were told 1.) we were not required to be present for the final walkthrough with Taylor, the employee responsible for helping us finalize the end of our lease, and 2.) we would receive our deposit within 30 days of the walkthrough. Our lease ended May 30th. OUR DEPOSIT HAS YET TO BE RETURNED AS OF JULY 12TH. We've called numerous times, visited the office, and have been given the runaround. After being told that Krissy hasn't finished "the paperwork" for our lease, they have suddenly "changed their rules for walkthroughs", and that she somehow didn't know we'd moved out AFTER WE CALLED HER ABOUT CLEANING BEFORE MOVING, we FINALLY got some kind of answer that Gori Property would have our deposit on the way "within the week." I'm skeptical at this point still. I'd be sure to get in writing the entire move-out agreement from the office and not from their online portal as we were recommended. They've caused us a lot of grief and have put us in a bad financial spot by withholding our deposit with no answers.
