Horrible!

Posted 4 years ago

Upon moving in, the landlord attempted to sale the property without informing me before signing the lease and brought people into the residence after I had begun to move in in order for the potential buyers to view the property for sale. Also, the residence at move in was not completely finished and the landlord had to be contacted about removing his belongings from the property, which he got an attitude about. When maintenance was needed at the residence, the landlord did not always repair things that need to be fixed in a timely fashion. Some of the things that needed to be repaired remained in the same condition at move out. Also, the landlord is very meticulous and stringent about cleanliness and whether or not he likes how you arrange things or your belongings in the residence. Before moving out, the landlord brought people into the residence to view the property at hours that were not agreed upon between him and the current tenant. Upon move out, you must document every square inch of the residence for cleanliness and require him to do a walk through of the residence; otherwise, he will deduct from your security deposit miscellaneous things that should not be deducted from the deposit at all. Also, the neighbors are not polite and allow their animals to run around without a leash, which has led to their animals defecating and urinating on the ground outside of the residence even after being fined by the management company of the community. This has led to the presence of a foul smell upon entering or exiting the front door of the residence. My advice to any future tenant is to document everything with this landlord even if he mentions something to you by word of mouth. Make sure you send a follow-up email to him describing what you two discussed. If you do not do this, he will take advantage of you. The transportation and parking is decent. You can catch the bus by the main street and there appears to be enough parking around the residence, especially since it comes with a one car garage. The only perks about the residence is the view of nature from the balcony and the modernized washer and dryer. The kitchen is very small and not all of the cabinets are easily accessible.
