Giller Realty maintenance team does not have any respect for personal privacy and safety of the tenant. I have expressed verbally and written my discomfort with people in my home when I wasn't present. I make arrangements to to be present for inspection and maintenance and the team either comes before designated times or not at all. On several occasions I have had men enter my home when I m present with out me being the one to let them in. I am a single woman living alone and having strange men enter when I'm not presentable gives me great anxiety and question my safety. In 2019 I have had 8 scheduled maintenance/inspections. This is obsessive and unnecessary. I feel that it became more so when I gave my notice to end my lease. In 2018 I had over 12 visits. Not to mention that Giller Realty notified me that I was late on a gas bill, knew the date I had 311 come to my home because of a large loose dog in my backyard. As a renter I want to feel safe and feel that I have a say in who and when someone enters my home. Never once did any of the maintenance calls last more than 10 minutes but I'm forced to take off work and lose money because Giller has always been unwilling to work with me. This has been the worse of my rental experience. I will never do business with Giller let alone refer them to and friends, family or professional associates.
I rented a property from Ethan in West Philadelphia for almost 3 years. From the very beginning Ethan has been very responsive and resourceful. From a personal experience I can say he is a standup guy and will do anything reasonable to help his tenants who are dealing with issues pertaining to his properties.
Ethan was WONDERFUL, I have 0 problems recommending him 100%. My ONE minor issue.....Some of the sub contractors Ethan used were less than reliable, and sometimes smelled of pot while working, or damaged the apartment(wall scratches, stairwell posts) while doing their work. Ethan fixed these issues promptly, but the sub contractors were sometimes less than optimal.
Landlords should fix things and answer questions, and Ethan does both. But he also goes far beyond that. He makes property improvements preemptively, always stays open to questions or concerns, and is a great, fun person to talk to or work with. He's creative and works to make his properties the best they can be. I'm thrilled with my living situation and am grateful to have a personable and responsive landlord.
During the search process, he got back quickly and was extremely considerate of my long distance housing search and canine companions. Don't really see him much, but he's prompt with follow up on all housing maintenance. The apartment has been accommodating for all my tree, bike, and storage needs.
Ethan is an ideal landlord. He is extremely bright, knowledgable, and friendly and is always happy to talk to his tenants. He troubleshoots problems efficiently and quickly while communicating with all shareholders about the process. Ethan is a highly self motivated person and works hard to maintain and renovate his property. Ethan always treats me respectfully and is a genuienely good guy and as a result I couldn't be happier with my landlord or my living situation.
