We are a family with a almost two-year-old son and we moved into a Dixon property on 406 Monroe St due to the fact that we were told the building was fully renovated and well-maintained. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case in our first four months at the property.
In my first month there, the building failed to shovel the snow (as promised) and I slipped down a flight of stairs -- which could have been a serious injury. When I informed my property manager, there was no apology and he refused to acknowledge any fault. It was only after I emailed Alan Dixon (whose apology is attached to this review), that this issue was properly resolved.
We are now dealing with a mice infestation in our unit. Despite two attempts to resolve, we're still dealing with this. For parents, imagine how devastating it is, to know that you're paying your rent on time and went a company that misled you and your child might be interacting with mice ***** matter. We've also dealt with lock issues (which we were threatened by our property manager to pay for, despite not having any fault), ant issues among with a variety of other problems that we haven't filed complaints.
We've asked Dixon to let us out of our lease as we were once offered by Noel Pendergrass after the lock issue, but we're now being threatened by Dixon once again. All we want is for this nightmare to end. Hopefully, they will finally do the right thing for their tenants, especially our toddler son, who doesn't deserve this.
