Got my full deposit back with no questions asked, respected my privacy and made timely repairs. Made my college stay great.
Overall, had a great experience in my five years completing my master's and phD. Had my classmate as new tenant and seamless transition with FULL security deposit back after 5 years!
Overall, a pleasant experience as I lived three years completing consulting work. Back in Chicago and would rent from Brian again.
Great place, clean, and responsive.
Very respectful of privacy and responsive to two repair needed over the four years.
Was advertised for a 12month+ lease, but Brian was flexible in understanding we needed a shorter term lease as it was a short-term business assignment. Overall, the home was great, gave us complete privacy as we did not see him once during the whole time there, and home relatively new where everything worked perfectly. Highly recommended, especially over many other landlords I've had.
Overall Brian was great in working with us even though he initially advertised for a 12 month lease on our corporate business assignment. Was real respectful of privacy, responsive within 48 hours and many times 12 hours, fixed the one repair with our light right away. Highly recommended over the many, 10+ landlords I've had!
Overall compared to my 4 other landlords, Brian was responsive, respectful of privacy, fixed any repairs that came up promptly, and worked with us if a payment issue came up. Highly recommended!
The house was not clean on our move-in date. Feces was in all 3 toilets, carpets weren't cleaned nor vacuumed, house not maintained, super rude property management team. Fought with us rather than apologizing and fixing it (had to wait 2 days before they had it cleaned. We stayed in a hotel those nights on our dime, the backyard was overgrown, unwatered with last tenants dog's poops all over backyard. Literally the worst most dishonest group ever! Do NOT rent from Brian Gorban and family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just moved out May 1 after three relatively great years compared to my previous landlords. Was always real responsive with any needs, understanding one time I had to make a late rental payment, complete privacy as I never saw him in the three full years I was here. Overall, I moved out of the area but a colleague of mine moved in as I had complete trust he would be taken care of compared to six other landlords I've had in my 16 years of renting that were not as respectful or responsive. Highly recommended!
Wonderful landlord who was highly respectful of privacy, always gave well in advance of 24 hours notice, and made timely repairs. One only thing I could say is a street light flickering nearby was annoying, but not his fault
Very respectful of privacy and not once showing up unannounced and only showing up twice over two years to diagnose a repair. Responsive within 48 hours, full deposit returned, recommended to my friend who's staying long-term now as I had a job transfer to Washington. Highly recommend as I've had many different landlords from a big billion dollar plus publicly traded firm to mom and pops and he was the most responsive, fixed repairs quickly, never bothersome, respectful of privacy, and FULL security deposit returned without and questions.
When my (then) fiance signed the lease, we told Mr. Gorban I wouldn't to be moving in immediately and we would modify the lease to add me onto it at that time, which we did. The other person he refers to was probably my minor daughter, not required by law to add a minor to a lease. During our last month there, we paid thru Jan 31, 2014. We discovered when we returned on Jan 31 for another load, that Mr. Gorban had given new tenant house keys and allowed her to move in. I was to have a walkthrough with Mr. Gorban at 11am that morning. He never showed. New tenant moved all of our remaining stuff into the garage so she could put hers inside. She met us at the property and apologized profusely that she was unaware that Mr. Gorban didn't get permission from us to do this. Mr. Gorban never had that walkthrough with us. He withheld $100 from our deposit, but never told us what for. And I have email proof of all of this. Mr. Gorban likes to distort the facts in his head.
I never waste my time on these bogus review sites, but convicted $1.3 million ponzi scheme peddler Ross Rojek above & his wife Heidi have crossed the line making up complete lies, see the links below on the many lives they have ruined via unbiased links. Long story short, SHE WAS NOT even on the original lease from January 2014, but then when I went to make a repair on March 2014, I unexpectedly saw her and she demanded that she was now living there, which was the first breach of the lease I overlooked. Then on May 2014, for another repair, I see they have a pitbull dog AND another resident another two breaches. I could go on but I choose to put the past in the past & since then do even more extensive criminal checks & other vetting practices as these people broke my trust! http://www.bleedingcool.com/2009/09/17/ross-rojek-hes-back-and-this-time-hes-reviewing-books/ http://www.mscl.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3114
He did quite a bait and switch with us. Several appliances (which were included in the rent) broke (garbage disposal, pegs on the dishwasher racks, washing machine, ceiling fan, no key for the garage door, doors swelling to the point they couldn't be opened, oven broiler broken (which the gas company pointed out to us upon move-in). Brian fixed a couple things, but then decided they were done fixing appliances and tried to give us a 45-day notice to move, which we challenged. Now he says he won't fix any broken appliances. Washer is broken now. He seems to be unaware of legal contracts. Nice guy, but completely green in being a landlord.
