We couldn't even open our windows unless we wanted our cats to jump right out. I'm pretty sure that was a violation of fire codes. In fact, some of the windows were broken with glass pieces resting in the bottom. Even though we requested more than once to have the windows replaced, he made up excuses every time. After we moved out he had the windows completely replaced BEFORE returning the security deposit. I actually had to reach out to him before he even sent over the details of the security deposit. That was three weeks after the move out date. I have't received the deposit yet - at this point in time I only have his word it's in the mail. He also attempted to charge our security deposit with issues that existed before our move in date. I would never recommend a landlord that attempts to charge tenants for problems they did not cause.
