It's not worth it. When we moved in on Aug 1, there were random planks of wood and buckets on paint laying around, a bedroom door that was put on the wrong way, unfinished cabinets and sinks and the air conditioner/heater was broken. When they finally responded to our maintenance concern, they tried to convince it us just "didn't know how to work" the air unit, then admitted it was broken. For 2 months they had rude inconsiderate worker/"friends" in our apartment for hours each day, coming and going as they please, rearranging our furniture and leaving smudged hand-prints around the walls. The workers left trash and debris throughout the livingroom and on our personal things and even completely destroyed our book shelf. They then tried to convince us just to move into another one of their properties which we declined considering we had already paid for moving trucks and spent hours move to this unit. They eventually just gave us a $200 credit on our rent and figured we'd be fine to suffer the summer with no air. We all chipped in to purchase 2 air conditioners and fans to accommodate the bi level apt. They left 9 holes in the ceilings and walls while trying to rewire, leaving the house looking utterly unpresentable for guest. Eventually they poorly patched up most of the holes and heat/cooling system was fixed. The rest of the year went by without much issue until it was time to move out. Unfinished construction from the beginning of our lease suddenly became things that we had "destroyed". Determined not to give them more money to leverage, 3 out of 5 roommates did not pay the last month of rent giving them the option to use the security deposits as rent which they did. They took the late payment fee and all was settled. At the end of the lease the landlord showed me some of his other properties that they were open to renting to me but I chose to go else where. You'd think that's where the story ends, but no. Now these folk are spreading the word our how unappreciative and terrible tenants we are, keeping us from renting in the Temple area. Matt Wise, Jon H, Brenton Housing are literally the worst! Just, no. Don't do it!
Took forever to get security deposit back, they never moved anything out from previous tenants, they didn't clean, and there was holes and dirt all over walls when we moved in and those problems were never fixed.
