When we moved in, the shower did not work, and the carpet had not been cleaned. It took them two weeks to get the shower working. the guys who fixed the shower left a huge mess in the bathroom, and I ended up having to clean it. Half of the doors in the apartment were also warped, and were difficult to close during the winter.
I’m a pretty reasonable person and was still happy at that point with my living situation. about halfway through our lease, my roomate and I were informed that the lady who lived below us had complained that we close our doors too loud. I apologized to the office that runs the apartments and explained that the doors have been having issues jamming, and asked if they could send maintenance to possibly help fix them. They never sent maintenance. This was the only time that we were ever informed of any complaints about us. We also had other maintenance problems. they failed to fix our heaters several times, and so we ended up having to buy space heaters to survive the winter.
Towards the end of our lease, we received a letter from the apartment group that they would not be renewing our lease due to “several complaints” about us being too loud, and having our T.V. too loud by an anonymous tenant.
Had we been made aware early on in our rooming situation that we were too loud, or were doing anything to annoy another tenant, we would have done our best to change our actions to not be too loud or annoy other tenants. We had no idea the other tenant below us could hear our T.V.. Had we known, we would have used lower volume, or taken other measures to accommodate the other tenant.
Overal, the group that runs the 336 and 332 Pennsylvania ave. apartment complexes, are unprofessional, and I would not trust them to fix problems.
