One elevator has been broken for over a year. The other one can be unreliable. I recently hurt my knee, wasn’t supposed to do stairs, and the elevator broke. I had to walk up 7 flights of stairs. I worry for the elderly woman on my floor having to use those stairs. They also need to plow the parking spots when heavy snow occurs. It’s impossible to get into some and walk between cars with heavy snow. They need to vacuum more than the first few floors as well. Upper floors rarely get it.
I chose this apartment because it provided off street parking. The units themselves are quite nice and the location of the building is very useful. My problems are with management and security. The elevators are broken, only one works and only sometimes. The other has apparently been broken over a year. Package thieves are rampant, management has done nothing to secure packages in an office or provide larger safer mailboxes to tenants. No ramp into building makes moving in and out difficult.
Elevator broken for over an year and management still won't fix it; it takes up to 10 minutes waiting for the only other functioning elevator sometimes. Also won't do anything about the constantly stolen amazon packages in the mail room. Lastly, charges residents $150 for accidentally locking themselves out of their apartment, Street in front of the apartment and in the alley where the garbage bins are are never plowed.
If you want to live in a building with neighbors who steal property that does not belong to them, tenants who don’t clean up after their pets (dog poop in the hallways), a leasing manager who never responds to messages, and staff who never pick up the phone, this is the place for you!
Location is great, and the building itself is quiet. I have been hear for years and don't want to leave ; but the new management is not responsive. They are nice once you get a response, but it can take dozens of messages and weeks to do so. An example is broken elevators; its a 50/50 shot it will works. When it comes to laundry, plowing, etc. that is contracted out and I understand those situations but elevators and individual tenant issues need to be addressed more promptly.
I've lived here for nearly four years. The building is quite expensive ($1025 for one bedroom) for what you get. Pros -Quiet building -Off-street parking (for $50/month) -Lobby and hallways in good shape Cons -Rental units run small (especially the bathrooms) -Hardwood floor in units in terrible shape (stained, cracked) -No in-unit washer and dryer -No trash room on individual floors -Poor emergency maintenance response times -Frequent pests (house flies, grain beetles) -Poor snow removal
My unit and the building are nice. There are issues with the property manager, Kim. She doesn't respond to emails or calls. My maintenance requests take the full ten days to be addressed. She distributes and posts flyers that are unprofessional and condescending. I feel like I'm getting a reprimand from a camp counselor or something. Tenants here pay plenty of rent and we don't deserve to be spoken to like children, or as if she's doing us a favor by letting us live here.
I’ve been living here for almost 4 years and if I wasn’t moving to another state I’d continue to. It’s homie and in the perfect location. They are prompt at replying to any concerns and the maintenance gentlemen are prompt and kind when fixing the repairs. Overall would highly recommend
The property is okay however the cost of rent is a little ridiculous for the size of the units and the quality of the property. The elevators work occasionally but usually they are out of order. Package theft is rampant. Currently as I am writing this the security FOB system is broken and the doors are not locked to get in or out of the building. The parking lot is not maintained. In the winter. My car has gotten stuck resulting in mechanical damage. I will not be renewing for a 5th year lease.
Overall it’s an okay place to live. The apartments are nice. However, there have been several on going issues with the elevators and laundry room. The elevators are unreliable so be prepared to take the stairs often. The one elevator hasn’t worked in over a year. The dryers don’t always dry your clothes completely and you have to run a second cycle, which can be pricey and annoying. My leasing agent never responds to emails.
I really enjoy the Ambassador. The apartments are really nice and affordable plus there is a gated parking lot and a rooftop patio in the summer. The building has an elevator that has been broken for who knows how long (still another working one). The landlord is not really great at responding, but any maintenance request I have is always taken care of right away. The building feels very safe and it is nice to always have a parking spot.
The unit is great and I love my apartment, the building management is always a step behind I feel. There are issues with the fob entry system not working, there are two elevators in which one only works…with it going down several times a month resorting to stair only usage. There are areas in which were being repaired in the main areas that are still not fixed several months later (I have a friend who lives on the top floor next to an area the ceiling fell down-it’s still not fixed).
