I've lived in many different apartments in many different states and this , by far, is the worst cared for and worst living experience I've ever had. This building is the only "renters" building in the lucrative Gramercy Park Area and the landlords are slumlords, literally. They are unkind and could care less about your wellbeing and living space. All they want is your money and they do the bare minimum to upkeep the building. In fact, I'm surprised Gramercy Park allows such a shoddy building on their prized park. The garbage is piled up- out front, which adds to the slum feeling. There is constant construction from illegal firms, all of whom smoke and pollute the air with dust and severe pollutants. ( the landlords do everything on the cheap) They are loud and inconsiderate. There is no 24/7 superintendent and he rarely shows up if you need something fixed, if at all. Often the trash will pile up. The lobby is ridiculous- missing tiles/ holes in the wall/ a random piece of wood to cover up a hole in the floor-- I was embarrassed to have people over. There were cockroaches, mice- the garbage didn't help. Also, they often leave the door wide open ( the construction crews do) allowing anyone to walk in. There was a homeless woman for the longest time taking shelter in the laundry room during rainstorms. A female on the third floor of the building had her apartment broken into. I rarely post reviews, but it was such an awful experience that I figured by posting it, perhaps I will spare someone the pain and hassle I've had.
