We had a one year lease for our first year of occupancy. When the lease ran out, no other lease was signed. No communication has been received regarding a new lease. Heat/energy was included in rent, as the space did not have it's own gas meter. After 3.5 years or renting, our gas was shut off without notice. (In January, in Michigan) We tried to contact landlord to no avail. We called the energy company ourselves to have our own gas meter put in. We went 6 days without heat total. The other major issue is the crumbling of the brick on the exterior of the building. Bricks have fallen (about 30 feet) and smashed on the concrete on multiple occasions over 3 years. Each time we have documented it, called or written a letter expressing our concern for the safety of pedestrians.
