Paresh Vipani is a conman and a slumlord. I lived in the building for 12 years in another unit before moving into the unit Vipani purchased. The unit had sat empty the entire 12 years I was there and likely was empty long before then as well. When I moved in everything in the apartment was vastly outdated. The air conditioning and boiler broke down days after moving in. The appliances are all over 40 years old. The stove and oven did not work at all. The refrigerator barely works. The shower was made by Montgomery Ward which went out of business in 1989. The apartment was not wired for any utilities, including phone or cable. When I moved in I had to pay to get the unit wired for cable and tv service. I had to fix the stove top burners myself. None of the blinds in the unit worked. Had to pay to get new blinds. Vipani’s response to all of these problems was to “move out” if I didn’t like it. This doesn’t even scratch the surface of all the issues I had with Paresh Vipani, including an ant infestation. When I moved out, breaking my leg in the process because of his constant harassment, he refused to return my security deposit despite returning his dump in the exact same condition he leased it to me in. The day we met when I was to turn in the keys, he toured the apartment and didn’t mention a single issue with the apartment. It wasn’t until the new tenant moved in and had the exact same complaints that I had that he had the audacity to email me and tell me he was going ahead and fixing all those issues at my expense/on my dime. He is a cheapskate slumlord who tries to skirt his legal responsibilities on his tenants taking advantage of them or their situation and manipulating them. He wants to renovate his apartment on the back of someone who paid him rent on time every single month. Despicable is too nice of a word to describe him.
