I had a bad experience someone can actually banging kicking on the door like four times like they was about to break in I called the police got a DC number call the property management not only that someone ripped the mailboxes off the wall as soon as I told them that they act like it was my fault then I called again to let them know they have a mice problem I guess they act like that's my fault too I guess they do that because I come from Philadelphia Housing Authority PHA I don't know other than that the place is nice but but inside the walls I don't know what's going on that's all year stuff crawling up and down the Walls 4 the people that you talk to ...to me they need to learn some people skills because anytime someone telling you what's going on with your property and you act like you're not really interested well I got to go onto another neighbor and ask them if they having the same problem that's not my job not one time have anyone Call me not came out here and checked on me as a tenant when I said someone was about to break into your home /apartment buildings just to make sure everything was okay I don't know would I rent from them again no
GNR is probably one of the worst property managements to rent from. They do not care about their tenants. The apartment was suppose to come with wifi but it never worked, so we had to get Xfinity wifi. Our electric bill is always $200+, we've had rodent issues and our work orders are ignored. We have never met our actually landlord nor does anyone come by. The front door to our apartment allows homeless people to just sit in the entrance, take about safety precaution, also we never got mailbox keys, everyone's mail is just sitting in the hallway of the apartment. HORRIBLE
When requesting maintenance on appliances GNR took several days to respond, the locks on the front door to enter building was easy to break into, resulting in a homeless man staying in the building and urinating in the laundry room, wife did not reach all rooms, and to top it off we cleaned the whole apartment like asked, left very minimal trash in kitchen and was charged 600 for cleaning. My one roommate got all of his security deposit back, my other half and i received $50 dollars out of 500. All this took part after the first year we rented with them, we moved upstairs, the security deposit rolled over and everything went down hill. After multiple attempts to talk to them they would not reach out to me to justify why i only received $50 of my security deposit back
Landlord put a new rug over the pee-stained old rug, so there's an occasional wiff of cat urine. They have been "fixing" my railing for six months. Their number is disconnected and it's similar to getting in touch with Obama., when we need something fixed. The pipes with our meter go to the neighbor's apartment, therefore we pay for some of their hot water.
There were a few things on the walk few that needed to be fixed but Denise promised they would be in working order when we moved in. On our move in date, the carpets had still yet to be cleaned (which was promised) and all of the issues were left the way they were when we were showed the property initially. We mentioned this and she promised to have someone out right away. (Never happened) But the real problem came when the rain and snow started falling. We notified the company of multiple leaks and they just put plaster over them and went on like nothing was wrong. This happened multiple times until finally we had a big snow storm. At this point the ceiling caved completely leaving our house looking a mess and letting our heating escape. Our average electric bill was 300 a month and GNR did fix the problem for 5 months. Finally ended everything and got out of the lease but all I can say is they were HORRIBLE landlords and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.
Moved into the place to find extremely dirty carpets, an overgrown backyard that I had to weedwhack myself, a basement filled with trash and numerous other problems. Halfway through the year mold also began to grow on my ceiling. The ceiling was cut out and no further changes happened the rest of the year. We lived with an enormous hole in the ceiling which leaked whenever rain or snow happened. Gosh I could go on all day about how b these landlords are but I could sum it all up by simply telling you not to sign your lease with them. I agree with the other review. Joe and Denise are some of the most rude and least respectful PEOPLE, let alone landlords, I have met. Ugh. So many headaches I'd rather not revisit....AVOID them. You won't be sorry
My worst experience ever!! The rooms were very large and everyone had their own bathroom, but when we moved into the apartment it was unfinished without the washer/dryer, running hot water among other things agreed on in the lease! The heating/AC did not work ALL YEAR and we were told that until it's over 90 degrees or under 50 we shouldn't be complaining. Our PECO bill averaged 300 a month if we ever turned it on, (not that it worked anyway). There were rodents in our "newly built" home because it was never sealed off from the abandon building beside it. The landlords (Joe and Denise) were completely disrespectful and multiplicative. Although there was an alarm system, there was a "bedroom lock" on our front door. When it rained outside, it rained in one of the bedrooms because the roof was unfinished. Even after the ceiling grew mold we were told to stop being smartasses and wait until they decided to fix it. SERIOUSLY stay away from GNR!
